The greatest rivalry in the history of tennis, so say the statistics, is the one between Novak Djokovic and Rafael Nadal.
The two have met 59 times, with the Serb winning 30 to 29.
They are also the two players with the highest number of Grand Slam titles: 24 to 22.
Djokovic, currently present in Paris to play the Masters 1000 Bercy, spoke of Nadal in an interview for the program 'C a Vous' of France 5.
"Nadal is a special player in my career," he reflected.
"We are not friends, but we have a lot of respect for each other.
"I hope that after our careers we can have a drink on the beach and talk about life."
A year and five months without a meeting
Nadal and Djokovic have not met in the draw of a tournament since the last edition of the Australian Open and have not crossed paths since they met in the quarter-finals of Roland Garros, in 2022.
