Effective July 1, 2024, the City of Campbell River will move animal control services in-house.“On behalf of the City I’d like to thank the City’s current contractor and animal control service provider, Coastal Animal Control Services of BC, for their years of service, professionalism, diligence, and connection with the community,” says Mayor Kermit Dahl. “We are working together to enable a smooth transition, and ensure that the community’s animal control needs continue to be met.”While some contact information will be updated, the City Pound will continue to operate at 490 Merecroft Road. All animal control details will be updated for the public on the City website when this service transitions to the City.For the latest information on animal control and animal-related bylaw enforcement matters, visit https://lnkd.in/gJ3GY-sJ. Ahead of National Indigenous Peoples Day we thought we'd share a video of the memorable arch unveiling that took place at ʔuxstalis (Tyee Spit) last month.People gathered to learn about the history of the area, enjoy an afternoon of cultural enrichment and community spirit, and share a lunch hosted by the Wei Wai Kum Nation.The beautiful Tyee Spit is a place rich in history and natural beauty, a meeting point between land and sea. The City of Campbell River is seeking a Network Technician to join their Information Technology team.in this role, you will assist in the overall support of the City’s and RCMP computing environments. The incumbent is responsible for ongoing administration and maintenance of Windows based networked computer systems used by the City of Campbell River. In addition, the incumbent supports all workstation and software application support requirements associated with the RCMP ROSS LAN environment and City of Campbell River network environment.This role will work closely with both Client Services and Network Administrators to support the city-wide area network and escalate any issues to the network administration team for oversight and/or resolution. City Council has approved in principle three grants for area-specific beautification initiatives, public art, amenities and public space programming. This year’s program will provide $10,000 in matching funds to the Campbellton Neighbourhood Association, and Willow Point Business Improvement Association, and $15,883.08 to the Downtown Business Improvement Association. Improvements will include decorative lighting, murals, flower planters, signage, litter abatement, and event programming. The draft partnering agreements and records relating to the proposed assistance are available for public inspection, by email, or by appointment between 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, excluding holidays, at City Hall. Council will consider the proposed partnering agreements at the regular Regular Council meeting on June 27, 2024.Notice is provided as required in Section 21 of the Community Charter.Questions or feedback?
