After 5 wonderful years (>10,000 hours) at Google, it was time for a new challenge. As I reflect on that time, I have so much to be grateful for. I had fantastic colleagues, the opportunity to work on interesting projects while visiting many global offices, and so many unique experiences for personal growth. It was an amazing ride, and one I will always be thankful I had the opportunity to take.One of the most enjoyable parts of my role was exploring new partnership opportunities in emerging areas of digital advertising. I found the sector of Retail Media fascinating, especially during the pandemic as eCommerce accelerated globally.Amazon is the clear global leader in retail media, so I could not be more excited to have joined the team at Amazon Ads to help build the business in ANZ. I feel privileged to have joined such a fantastic team and have the opportunity to help leading advertisers take advantage of the unquie opportunities that exist within the space.

Its awesome to see that ROKT, my previous employer and work family, have achieved an amazing milestone and claimed the title of Australia's newest unicorn! ($US1 billion). So today this young man had a bad day at work! Let's be honest we have all had them, especially in our early 20's. For those of you unaware, this is Marcus Rashford, he is a professional footballer who plays for Manchester United and the England national team.Last year during the height of the pandemic in the UK, Marcus campaigned against homelessness and and child hunger. He called for the Government to reverse the decision to not provide free school-meal vouchers for children over the summer holidays. The programme ensured about 1.3M children would receive free school-meal vouchers and thousands of the country’s most vulnerable youngsters did not, and will not, go hungry.Today Marcus unfortunately missed a penalty during a penalty shootout in the Euro final with Italy. You can see how disappointed he was from this photo at the end of the game. With millions watching and a nation's hopes and dreams on his young shoulders, the pressure on this young man must have been immense. It's unsurprising that it affected his performance.Instead of the entire nation celebrating his tremendous achievements, Marcus Rashford has been targeted by a torrent of disgusting threats and abuse online. Rather than rantabout what is wrong with this entiresituation, I simply want to share an appreciation post about a young man, who had a bad day at the office today, but has achieved so much in the last 12 months. As COVID-19 continues to spread globally, Google will be providing over $800 million to support small businesses and help respond to the crisis. Breaking it down, that's $250m to the WHO and government agencies to prevent the spread of COVID-19; $200m to help SMBs access capital; $340m in ads credits to help businesses stay in touch with their customers; $20m of Cloud support for research institutions; and direct support for production of protective equipment.https://lnkd.in/g8Z_pU5
