It has been more than two decades since the first Fast & Furious movie hit the theatre screens. Since then, there has been no looking back for the films keep on coming and coming, showing more of the much-loved street racing, spies, heists, and themes of family.
After years of amazing viewers with their heart-pounding action sequences, and sometimes not-so-epic yet tear-jerking installments, this high-octane saga is revving up its engines for yet another but final ride. Having started with Vin Diesel and the late Paul Walker, the franchise has now enrolled some of the finest actors of our time, many of whom are expected to return in the latest upcoming ‘grand finale’ flick of the franchise.
With Dominic Toretto and his ‘crew’/’family’ once again expected to defy the odds, one cannot help but wonder what new challenges will they face and what have they been cooking to bring together fans once again, for the last time. From cast details to storyline, here is all you need to know about the last Fast & Furious film and why it might turn out to be yet another wild and unforgettable ride!
What Can We Expect from Fast & Furious 11
Announced in 2023, the upcoming installment of Fast & Furious is supposedly the last of the grand racing-heist-family saga and also a sequel to the last film, Fast X. Confirmed by Vin Diesel that the flick is going to be the grand finale of the two decades-long franchise (via Instagram), it is apparently not just an ending; it’s a celebration of the incredible family they have built together.
No other sequel or film has been as closely related to the franchise as this last ride. While details are being kept under wraps, Fast 11 is actually a sequel to Fast X, an extraordinary feat given how other movies of the franchise can be treated as stand-alone films.

Apart from giving a befitting end to Dominic Toretto and his crew, the film is also expected to be a farewell to the late Paul Walker, by providing a conclusion to his character Brian O’Conner. It will further be shot in the city of Los Angeles, where the first-ever film of the franchise was made more than two decades ago (via Collider).
Hence, a ‘bring it back home’ kinda finale to the long-running franchise, we most certainly can expect all the characters to come back once again and reach a befitting conclusion to their storylines along with more than a few heart-pounding action sequences, epic street races, and blockbuster thrills.
Fast & Furious 11 Cast Details: Who is Coming Back?
As we know the upcoming Fast 11 aka Fast X 2 is the sequel to the last installment of the franchise, and many of the cast members of the last film are expected to return and so will the director Louis Leterrier. Since the last film ended on quite a cliffhanger, Vin Diesel‘s Dom and his son Brian aka Leo Abelo Perry are sure to be there since there is no way they would have been killed at the end of Fast X.
Also expected to return is Dante Reyes, played by Jason Momoa. Although we do not know what happened to Tyrese Gibson’s Roman, Ludacris’ Tej, Nathalie Emmanuel’s Ramsey, and Sung Kang’s Han, since their plane was shot down by the two-faced Alan Ricthson’s Aimes, there is a chance at least one of them is killed and the others make it out alive.
While there are chances Ritchson would be back, Michelle Rodriguez’s Letty and Charlize Theron’s Cipher are sure to return since the last film features them being saved by Gal Gadot’s Gisele (who will potentially return as well) in Antarctica. While Dwayne Johnson is expected to star in a standalone Hobbs movie, he and Jason Statham aka Shaw might end up in the film and so might Helen Mirren’s Queenie.

John Cena’s Jakob Toretto died saving Dom and his son, so although he is dead and gone, we didn’t really see any dead body. As it is supposed to be Paul Walker‘s Brian O’Conner’s tribute film as well, Jordana Brewster’s Mia will also show up. Also expected to make a return are Daniela Melchoir’s Isabel, Brie Larson’s Tess, Kurt Russell’s Mr. Nobody, Scott Eastwood’s Little Nobody, and even Walker’s daughter Meadow since she had a cameo in Fast X.
Fast & Furious 11: Story Details and More
The last film, Fast X, basically laid all the groundwork for the last film of the franchise. So the finale is going to pick up from the cliffhanger ending and shed light on what happened with Dom and his son Brian as well as whether or not Roman, Ramsey, Han, and Tej survived or not.
With Letty and Cipher supposedly back from Antarctica and Deckard Shaw potentially having saved his mother from Dante’s henchmen and Hobbs back in business, a lot is going to go down in the next film. While it is supposedly still being written, Louis Leterrier revealed to the Los Angeles Times in May 2023 that they all knew where everything was going while working on Fast X.
So on top of everything that we had to do, we had to decide, ‘This is where this franchise is going to end. It has to end this way.’ Yes, yes, yes. Everybody agreed. Shook hands. And then we went back to work.
Moreover, while talking to Total Fim (via GamesRadar), Vin Diesel stated the following regarding Fast 11 being a tribute to his late friend and co-star, Paul Walker,
That moment in 2013 when the world was struggling with his loss, the studio made a very bold and righteous and daring decision to keep Brian O’Conner alive. I will give you this without spoiling anything: I couldn’t imagine this saga ending without truly saying goodbye to Brian O’Conner.

Although we have no idea how this supposed tribute will play out or how the ending will be, the film will bring everything back as a full circle to take it back home.
It’s exactly that. That’s what we wanna do. We wanna bring it back home, and still have a great big journey to tell.
Stated Leterrier while talking to Collider. So while we have no idea whatsoever how the film will end, there is a possibility that a BBQ will be involved one way or another. Nevertheless, loyal fans of the franchise are excited and waiting.
When Will Fast & Furious Be Released?
Fast 11 was actually supposed to be released in 2025. However, the twin SAG-AFTRA strikes delayed the film (via Comic Book) and we can now expect the film to hit the theatres in 2026. While we await more details regarding the film’s release and more, Vin Diesel revealed in May this year that he has resumed training for the film via an Instagram post.
Furthermore, Louis Leterrie in an interview with Collider revealed that the film is going to happen soon.
It’s happening. It’s happening very, very soon.I’m able to shoot a little horror movie this summer. I’m finishing my horror movie on September 15th, and I startFaston September 16th.
When asked more, he revealed that the film will begin pre-production now and start filming late.

It’s filming early next year, and it’s coming out in 2026, which will be exactly to the day, 25 years since the first one came out.
So hopefully releasing on the same day that Fast & Furious was released years ago, June 22, 2001. A perfect date for the film to release given how it is supposedly revisiting its ‘roots’, we will have to wait and watch whether or not the everything gets completed in time. So while we wait, we might as well buckle up for one last ride as the Fast & Furious saga comes to an end in Fast & Furious 11!
