Today marks one year of being cancer free. Here’s the thing…I didn’t know I had cancer. I just felt off. And truthfully, the only reason I went to the doctor is because I was headed to Mexico, and then I had two days before I would head to Arizona to see my son. The thought of something happening in Mexico, and not being able to see my kid was not sitting well.So I went to the doctor. His first thought was an ulcer…I wasn’t buying it. So I pushed back After a phone call or 2, they sent me to for an ultrasound. After that, things moved very fast. It turned out I had a massive tumor in my ovary: 34 x 20 x 13 cm - yup, the size of a small watermelon. A year ago today, it was removed. It turned out to be cancerous and, thankfully, only stage 1. I share this because I want you to listen to your body and I want you to advocate for yourself. It’s been a hell of a year. The recovery from the surgery was way harder than I was prepared for. 60 staples and a 22-ish inch incision takes a lot of time to heal. In July, after a month of truly feeling physically back to normal, I went in for another surgery: a full hysterectomy and staging. Although there were complications with the surgery, there is no additional cancer. This week marks the first week that I feel fully physically better from the last surgery. It’s been a hell of a year, to say the least. My life, on many levels, is not the same as it was at this time last year. It’s been a year of emotional ups and downs and massive personal changes. And yet I’m grateful. Grateful I’ll be ok and…Grateful I can share this to (hopefully) inspire some of you to listen and advocate for yourself. If I had continued to ignore the signs or accepted what was said, things could be very different for me today. Take care of YOU! #Advocate #health #cancerthriver

To card or not to card? No I'm not talking about alcohol sales. I'm talking business cards. You know the little billboards for your business that you can hand to others, leave behind or include in packaging of products or proposals? What are your thoughts on them? Every time I order them I think "what a waste, will I really hand them out?"And then I have to remember that the reason I'm ordering them is because I gave them all out🤦♀️Here's why I think this little billboard is still valuable: 1. It showcases your brand and branding2. It shows you've invested in your company as a working business not a hobby3. The quality of the business cards can go a long way on the impression you make.4. Not everyone can whip out their phone and connect using technology (or uses technology) in moments of high traffic and short time periods. Handing out a card is easy.5. You are prepared to connect anytime, anywhere.6. They're a (relatively) inexpensive way to have a billboard for your business at your fingertips. Here are some tips for making sure you make a great first impression with your cards: 1. Use high resolution, print ready professional photo of yourself2. Make sure to include ways to connect with you: website, phone, etc3. Consider a QR code but don't make that the only way to reach you4. Make sure to use high quality stock for printing.5. Make sure to double check the proof for errors and bleed lines.6. Make sure you order in enough time for your event😉7. Don't forget to use your BRANDING!#personalbranding #imageconsulting #clientattractionps. What's your favorite way of connecting during networking events, presentations, etc?

No matter how hard I try I can't make today Friday. And it's actaully a relief! As much as I'm looking forward to the weekend, I have a few things "due" today and I literally convinced myself that I missed my commitment date. So what's going on? Excitement about traveling to see my son next weekend for the opening games of ASU hockey (his last year playing😩) Excitement about hosting the upcoming masterclass/roundtable (October 16th)Excitement about traveling to San Antonio in a few weeks to produce videos for 6 different franchise industry professionals and to attend the FranNet conference. (October 18th-23rd)There's a lot going on. And I'm excited but, try as I might, I can't make the days go any faster. Which is good because each day is filled with lots to do around here, as well. As a matter of fact, for yesterday's webinar, I did a cursury count of what we do by the numbers. One stat completely surprised me.Check it out here and please let me now in the comments, something about you and/or your business that surprises you.#personalbranding #thoughtleadership #leadership

I almost sent it. But I didn't. This morning I received a second email from someone trying to get my business that clearly didn't do their homework. Annoyed, I started writing back. I told them they would know what we do at The Image Impact Group if they had visited our LinkedIin page and/or website. I told them they should never call a person they are not familiar with "dear." I told them they should invest in a branded email so they looked as though they had invested in their business. I told them if they needed help, my programs start at ____.But I didn't send it. I felt better after I wrote it. My frustration had an outlet. But I wouldn't have felt good sending it because my frustration was evident, I was snarky and my intent was not to help but to put "them in their place." Not good. I hit delete. I don't want to be known as a snarky, frustrated, mean-spirited person. It's not who I am. Am I human and did I have a moment? Absolutely. And then I remembered who I am.That's it, that's all. Have an amazing, positive, do-good day!!

I will fully admit that when I first started my business, I wasn't attracting high value clients. Why? Because I didn't know what I didn't know. I wanted to be everything to every body. (Not possible, by the way.)I didn't really know what my end game was. Did I want money, prestige, visibility, work-life balance? And because I was unclear, how I was showing up was a bit muddled. And here's the kicker. I'm a trained image consultant. You may have heard the saying "it's hard to read the lable when you're inside the bottle."That was me.Like I said, I wanted to be everything to everybody and it's just not possible. There was trial and error and a lot of frustration. And then I realized the missing piece. I wanted clients that were all in...who wanted to make a impact...who wanted to level up...I realized that my high-value client was a client that wanted to make an impact, that wanted to stand out and knew the power of visibility. Not someone that wanted a cute outfit or a quick fix. I got to work on making a change. My messaging changed. My networking changed. My social media changed. My wardrobe changed. My opportunities changed. And my bottom line changed.Join me on October 2nd at 12:30 EST for a no-fluff, open conversation where I'll share 3 strategies that will help you attract the high value clients you need, deserve and can't wait to work with. Scan the QR code at the end of the video or click on the events page under my name to reserve your spot.
