An amazing family movie
I've seen Coco many times and i've loved it on every watch. I love the characters and the main premise of the film and it's a joy to watch with my younger siblings. It's one of my favorite pixar movies. Since the movies inspiration is Dia de Muertos, or they day of the dead, the main theme of the movie is respecting the dead and honoring your ancestors which may be too much for some children but it's a perfect film for children ages 7+. It was fine for my young siblings to watch, the youngest of which was five. This movie is a great way to honor, learn, and experience mexican traditions.

Perfect.
I’m sorry, I think people are mistaking Dia de los muertos for Halloween. This is not a horror movie. The skeletons are because of the Mexican tradition that celebrates the life of the dead. Not scary at all. Deep, thoughtful, touching, and has great music. Really diverse too. Also, can people stop assuming everyone is Christian please? The world has focused so long on Christianity, and now it’s time to celebrate other cultures and traditions. Don’t get offended if someone else has a different culture.

Best Pixar Movie with an Amazing Soundtrack
The idea for this film came way out of left field, but I feel they really hit it out of the park. The characters were relatable, yet very interesting. I loved following Miguel’s journey on the Day of the Dead and thought both his and his great great grandfather’s character arcs were well paced. The story moves quickly, but it’s easy to follow along. The animation is gorgeous and the setting of the Land of the Dead is cunningly designed. The soundtrack features great Mexican inspired songs that nod to Miguel’s heritage. This heartwarming flick reminded me of familia and the scene with Coco and Miguel singing “Remember Me” is one of the only scenes that have ever made me cry. I love this movie.

Very mild threat and violence.
A character is poisoned, and another is crushed by a heavy object without detail. A character is frightened when he meets living skeletons, but they turn out to be friendly.
