Miller was the owner and operator of Howard Miller, a men's clothing store at 401 West Main Street. He had been an owner of that business since 1984. State BRIGHT William M. Bright, IV, 74, 301 Turner Street, Midway, died Tuesday at Taylor Manor Nursing Home. The son of the late Thomas Phelps and Elizabeth Matheny Bright and a Lincoln Co. native, he was a retired U.S. Air Force Major and a veteran of ww II and the Korean Conflict.

"Buster" Waits, resident of Lexington, formerly of Mitchellsburg, died Mon. Jun. 28, 1993 at Good Samaritan Hospital in Lexington. He was a son of the late Robert and Cora Waits and a stepson of the late Bessie Waits and the widower of Christine Wotford Waits and Lula Reardon Waits. He was retired from Sellers Engineering in Danville, KY.

He was a member of the Mitchells- retired executive at the Voice of America and a noted author of cookbooks, died June 22 at his home in Peconic, N.Y. Mr. Bond died of injuries received in a fall, said one of his nephews, Roy Hemmingway of Portland, Ore. Before retiring from the Voice of America in 1970, Mr. Bond had gained a reputation as a food authority and had written The Outdoor Cookbook (Pocket Books, 1963).

He is best known for The International Gourmet Cookbook (Leon Amiel, 1979), a compilation of recipes from around the world taken from the Cuisine I Love series of books. "He had the ability to make things simple, which appealed even to people who have no feel for cooking," said William Konecky, a friend and publisher of the 13 books in the Cuisine I Love series. During World War II, he served with the Psychological Warfare Detachment of the U.S. Army in Europe. Among his duties, he directed the Allies' main news service on Radio Luxembourg and edited a German language newspaper dropped behind enemy lines.

MEXICO CITY Antonio Badu, 79, a Mexican actor and singer who appeared in dozens of movies, died yesterday of a lung ailment, his family said. A statement from his family distributed by the National Actors Association said Mr. Badu had been ill for three months after undergoing lung surgery. It did not specify the illness. Mr.

Badu recorded dozens of songs. During the 1940s and 1950s, he made more than 30 movies alongside such stars as Jorge Negrete and Leticia Palma. Mr. Badu was born to a poor family in Real del Monte, a small town in the central state of Hidalgo. ANDOVER, Mass.

Catherine Leno, 82, mother of "Tonight Show" host Jay Leno, died Saturday of cancer. Jay Leno said she was a major influence on his sense of humor. Mrs Leno, a native of Scotland, came to the United States as a youngster. call 5-8 p.m. Thurs.

HOSKINS James C. Hoskins, 30, Philadelphia, PA and formerly of Corbin, passed away Sunday, June 13, 1993 in the Olympic National Park in Washington. He was a graduate of Corbin High School and Davidson College and had done graduate work at Temple University before joining the staff of International House in Philadelphia. He is survived by his parents, Mr. and Mrs.

R. Springer Hoskins, Corbin; a brother, David S. Hoskins, Corbin; two sisters, Caryn Overbey, Charlotte, NC and Mary Anne Hoskins, Chapel Hill, NC; a grandmother, Mrs. George E. Klein, Doylestown, PA; three nieces; and a nephew.
